He was predeceased by: his parents, George Edward Franklin and Francis Register Franklin; his wife Susan Presley Franklin; and his siblings, Bill Starr, Dorothy Starr and Sandy Eberline.
He is survived by: his adoptive parents, Bill Starr and Harriett Starr; his daughter Sharri Rimmer-Henson (Liam) of Thomaston; his siblings, Jim Starr (Nancy) of Haddock, GA, Charles Starr (Sandi) of Sunnyside, GA, Jeff Franklin of Forest Park, GA, Ben Franklin (Hawk) of Atlanta, GA and Peggy Malloy (Kevin) of Wilson, NC; his grandchildren, Courtney Simons (Matt), Trey Henson, Mason Henson, Caitlyn Rimmer-Henson and Fern Franklin; and his great grandchildren, Ashton Simons and Raegan Simons.
