She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Edward Lowe and Lillian Birdsong Lowe; and her siblings, Betty Smith, Margie Caraway, Brenda Boyt, Billy Lowe and Marion "Bub" Lowe.

She is survived by: her husband Thomas Black "Tommy" Howell, Jr. of Thomaston; her children, Susan Carpenter (Guy) of Thomaston, Karen Kennedy (Rex) of Thomaston and Thomas B. Howell, Jr. (Karen) of Thomaston; and her siblings, Juanita Morgan of Yatesville, Gloria Smith (Conrad) of Thomaston, Sheila Holtapp of Griffin, Susie Boyt (Jack) of Thomaston, Ray Lowe (Susie) of Thomaston and Ronnie Lowe (Teresa) of Thomaston. She is also survived by six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
