He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Marvin Clay and Mary Lizzer Meelor Clay; his daughter-in-law Lisa Clay; and his siblings, Wilbur Clay, Tommy Clay, Bill Clay and Shirley Holland Clay.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Clay of Thomaston Ga; his children, Michelle Grammer of Thomaston Ga, Heath Clay (Jennifer McDaniel) of Meansville Ga and Josh Clay (Catherine Burks) of Thomaston Ga; and his siblings, John Clay of Thomaston Ga, Sam Clay of Thomaston Ga, Rickey Clay (Charlotte) of Thomaston Ga and Ruth Bowers of Thomaston Ga. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
