He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Avery and Agnes Holder Avery. He is survived by: his wife Amber Avery of Thomaston; his children, Ivy Rowe (Don) of Thomaston, Joel Thrower of Thomaston and Alexander Joe Avery of Thomaston; and his siblings, Leo Gordon Avery of Thomaston, Lester Avery of Alabama, Jinie Carson of Texas, Margie Lowe of Thomaston, Marilyn and Martha. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
