She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill Howell and Jean Rowell Howell; her husband Steve Hortman; and her sons, David, William and Stevie Hortman.

She is survived by: her daughters, Jean Cobb (Nick Mayo) of Thomaston and Amanda Jenkins (Nash) of Turner County; and her sisters, Dora Howell, Cheryl Pumphrey and Patricia Smith. She is also survived by four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
