She is survived by: her son Jerry; her daughter-in-law Peggy Emmett of Thomaston; her sister Elsie Hutcheson of Warm Springs; and her grandchildren, Lori Saunders, Tracey Emmett and Kristi Pittman. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

“We were so sorry to hear of aunt mattie lou passing away. She is now rejoicing with the lord in heaven. I have very fond memories of her from my childhood. She always had some type of candy for everyone, and especially for the children. I visited with her a few months ago and found her cooking some beef stew. She was an excellent cook.
