She was predeceased by: her husband Alton Nathaniel Gilbert; and her son Alton Nathaniel Gilbert, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Marilyn G. Thomas (John) of Decatur and Glenn Gilbert (Lori) of Marietta. She is also survived by her parents and her husband.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 208 South Church St., Thomaston, GA 30286.
