She was predeceased by : her parents, Hershal Kittle and Claudie Smith Kittle; her husband William A. "Billy" Merritt; her children, Steve Johnston and Joni Nichols; her siblings, Lawrence Kittle and Myrtice Ring; and her great grandchild Olivia Mobley.
She is survived by : her children, Michael Keith Covington of Brownstown, Indiana, Glenda Mobley of Fitzgerald and Regina; her son-in-law Gary Sumner of Tifton; her sister Florence Latham of Fitzgerald; and her grandchildren, Jonathan Mobley, Andy Dickens, Angela Strickland, Stacy Merchant, Al Horton and Niki Powell.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Mystic Cemetery.
