He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold B. Nelms and Lula Popham Nelms. He is survived by: his significant other Terri Eskew Cooper; his children, Megan Phillips and Trevor Cooper (Madeline); and his sister Lugene Burson (Jimmy). He is also survived by step children and grandchildren from his previous marriage.
