She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel James Walker and Emma Dodson Walker; her husband Clarence E. Speir; and her daughter Nancy Mauldin. She is survived by: her daughters, Carolyn (Joe Beal) and Susan (Jerry Davis); and her son-in-law Ray Mauldin of Jonesboro. She is also survived by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

“When I married Skeeter 56 years ago, and became a member of the vast Harper family, Margaret was a widow with three daughters. She was a daughter to Nonie, a sister to Dot, Aunt, and loyal, fun cousin to all of us. Margaret was much loved by all of us! Her laugh was infectious, with that twinkling of her eyes. She remained caring of others, quick witted, with a sharp mind.at 103. She was amazing! One of a kind! We'll not forget her, and she will be greatly missed.”
