With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shelton James Skinner Jr. of Valdosta, Georgia, who passed away on December 1, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Shelton James Skinner, Sr. and Armittie Skinner; his wife Myrtice Bennett Skinner; and his stepson Tony Cheshire. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Jerry Cheshire of Nahunta, Glen Cheshire of Jacksonville, Florida and Faye Cheshire of Waycross, Georgia; and his siblings, Doris Cumbus of Valdosta, Georgia and Ronald Skinner of Ray City, Georgia. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services (3831 N Valdosta Rd, Valdosta, GA 31602).
