He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyle E. McGhin, Sr. and Ivadine Beatty McGhin; his son Jason Llye McGhin (Laurie) of Cairo, GA; and his brother-in-law Robert Burns. He is survived by: his wife Leslie T. McGhin of Valdosta, GA; his sons, Phillip McGhin (Pinckney) of Valdosta, GA and Adams McGhin of Valdosta, GA; his grandchildren, Erin McGhin Hayes (Jake) of Whigham, GA, Ethan McGhin of Cairo, GA, Evan McGhin of Cairo, GA, Jed McGhin of Valdosta, GA and Sam McGhin of Valdosta, GA; and his brothers, Lyle McGhin (Annie) of Valdosta, GA, Bill Kell (Tina) of Canton, GA, Mark Thoreson (Sandi) of Hayesville, NC and Ross Thoreson of Cairo, GA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Valdosta Elks Lodge (2309 US-84, Valdosta, GA 31601).
