He was predeceased by: his former wife Mae Jean Justus Hattaway; and his siblings, Arthur, John, Robert, James, Albert Hattaway, Ruth Ford and Doris Lacey.
He is survived by: his friend Dreufus Fountain; his wife Cheryl Ann Rape of Centerville; his children, Kathy Armstrong (Willie) of Kathleen, Barry Hattaway (Kay) of Bonaire and Tamra Hattaway of Perry; his grandchildren, Justin Armstrong (Casey), Branden Armstrong, Samantha Williams (Shane), Landen Hattaway and Logan Hattaway; his great grandchildren, Nevan Armstrong, Abigail Armstrong and Vining Williams; and his sister Margaret Rouse of Centerville.
In memory of Claude, his family requests memorial donations be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Georgia Sheriffs' Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 100, Hahira, GA 31632.
