He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard L. Childress and Cassie Johnson Childress; his siblings, George Childress (Ann), Alice Winans (Clarence) and Tom Howard; and his sisters-in-law, Beulah and Berta Childress.
He is survived by: his brothers, Franklin Childress, Richard Childress and Doug Childress (Gail); his sister-in-law Jackie Howard; and his nephew Christopher Howard (Amber).
