He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Johnson and Ruth Countryman. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Stacie Miller (James) of Okinawa, Japan, Jennifer Walker (Charles) of Winston Salem, Mary Beth Nichols (Jake) of Rainsville, Alabama and Jeremy Johnson; his siblings, Douglas Johnson (Bonnie) of Ashville and Debra Brown (Ken) of Gallatin, Tennessee; and his stepsisters, Tina and Suzanne. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
He went on to receive his PhD in healthcare administration and worked as a radiology consultant for Foundation Radiology in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
