He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Barnard and Dorothea Sprague; his son Greg Mercer; and his sister Ora Steele. He is survived by: his wife Gertrude Barnard (Williams); his daughters, Denise "Dee" Cofield (Ronald) of Macon, GA, Kay Hanson (David) of Warner Robins, GA and Nicole Hamlin (Donald) of Kathleen, GA; and his siblings, Bill Barnard of Michigan and Roberta Gluth of Arizona.
