He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Sherry Akin (Barrett) of Warner Robins; his sons, James Tyler Akin of Warner Robins and Jeffrey Scott Akin of Warner Robins; his siblings, Ann Akin Parker of Fayetteville and David Andrew Akin of Rome; his mother-in-law Julia Ann Glass of Pell City, AL; his siblings-in-law, Jerald Barrett (Sandy) of Hendersonville, TN and Meri Beth Johnson (Jeff) of Yorba Linda, CA; and his nieces and nephews, Hannah, Rachel Parker, Lily Adams, Will and Tanner Barrett.
