He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles M. Anderson and Elma Scott Anderson; his wife Virginia "Ginny" Anderson; his daughter Bonnie Combes; and his son-in-law Ron Mathis.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Mathis, Beth Keaney (Tim) and John W. Anderson, II (Laura); his grandchildren, Michael Mathis, Michele, Paul Mathis, Layla Shepherd, Shane Keaney, Erin Prowett and Sunny; his great grandchildren, Lucy Shepherd, Walker Mathis, Will Mathis and Joe Mathis; and his son-in-law Richard Combes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
