He was predeceased by: his parents, James Skeen and Shirley Boggs Skeen; and his son Ryan Matthew Skeen. He is survived by: his siblings, Margie Skeen, Jeff Skeen and Sheila Skeen; his father-in-law Russ Cox; his wife Susan "Susie" Cox Skeen of Bonaire, Georgia; his children, Mandi Skeen (Dennis Bean, Jr.) of Bonaire, Lindi Skeen (Brad Kimball) of Warner Robins and R. J. Skeen (Katie) of Toccoa Falls, Georgia; his grandsons, Jace Kimball and Kobe Ryan Bean; his mother-in-law Charlene Cox of Salem, Oregon; and his siblings, James Skeen (Fabi), Theresa Armendariz (Richard), Gary Skeen (Cheryl), Kenneth Skeen (Jennifer) and Lisa Skeen.
