He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Constance Mary Eden of Warner Robins, Catherine L. Smith (Royce Edward) of Monroe, Georgia Layfield and Patrick Anthony "Butch" Layfield of Fort Valley, Georgia; his grandchildren, James P. Goodwin III, Shauna S. Robertson, Robert Tyler Goodwin and Blake Layfield; and his great grandchildren, Kailey Goodwin, Kinsey Goodwin, Lexi Goodwin, Jena Grace Robertson and Finlee Kate Smith.
