He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence E. Atchley and Bonnie Lee Holmes Atchley; his former wife Hazel Jump Atchley; his son Michael Atchley; and his grandson Matthew Stanfield.
He is survived by: his wife Jackie Brooks Atchley; his children, Shelia Guyton, Shirley Westley, Sandra Stanfield and Dennis Atchley; his stepchildren, Wayne Hunter, Annelle Gainor, Charlie Hunter, Cindy Greenway and Vicky Hunter; and his brother Donald Atchley. He is also survived by four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
