She was predeceased by: her son Ronald Dowdy; her parents, Benjamin Weise and Dorothy Weise; and her sister-in-law Helen Dowdy. She is survived by: her husband Roy Dowdy; her children, Travis Dowdy (Melissa) of Griffin and Anne McElroy of Zebulon; her grandchildren, Lila Dowdy, Preston Dowdy, Nathan Dowdy (Haley), Elizabeth Callaway (Shaun), Elan Eliot, II and Austin Elliott; her great grandchildren, Mason Callaway and Preston Dowdy, III; and her siblings, Barbara Jean Lejune and James H. Weise (Deborah). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
