He was predeceased by : his parents, John David and Lillian Cox Phillips; and his siblings, Fred Art Phillips, Herschel Phillips and Ralphene Brown-Harris.

He is survived by : his children, Ricky Phillips of Wrightsville, Rebecca Phillips (Randy Crabtree) of Dublin and Rachel Jackson of Warner Robins; his siblings, George Phillips (Lynda) of Wrightsville and Lorene Copeland (Henry) of Wrightsville; his sister-in-law Judy Phillips of Wrightsville; and his granddaughter Raina Crabtree.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Phillips to Buckeye Christian Church C/O Judy Phillips at 2606 New Buckeye Road, Wrightsville, GA 31096.
