She was predeceased by : her parents, Harry A. Stephens and Lacey Nicholson Stephens; her husband Raymond A. Ash; and her sister Judy Stephens Denney. She is survived by : her children, Carolyn Arbuckle (Rick) of Peachtree City, Lisa Baxter of Thomaston and Jamey Ash (Rachel) of Thomaston; her sister-in-law Genelle Gordon of Loganville; and her grandchildren, Jonathan Payne, Nick Arbuckle (Bess), Greg Arbuckle (J. D.), Kelly Arbuckle (Mike), Cody Baggett, Christina Baxter, Connor Ash, Brittany Robertson (Greg) and Brandon Wilder. She is also survived by her five great grandchildren.

“Carolyn, Jamey and Lisa, I am so sorry that Carole was taken from us too soon. I will miss seeing her at Young Harris. Carole is one of the last direct decendents of John Bryson, our Great, Great grand father, who gave the land for Old Union Church and Cemetary. There is no one left on Govenor's Hill of our people who were born and lived there for so long. Janice Stephens-Wofford”
