He is survived by: his wife Annabel Tavares of Hilo; his children, Gary Tavares (Laurie) of Hilo, Leroy Tavares (Malia) of Portland, Greg Tavares (Monica) of Hilo, Donna Medeiros (Abraham) of Papaikou and Juliann Figueroa (Michael) of Pepeekeo; his sister Patricia Ongais of Keaau; and his siblings-in-law, Sharon Tavares of Keaau and John Kalawe. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
