It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Daniel Peter Nelson of Hilo, Hawaii, who passed away on March 30, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his children, Dane Nelson of Hilo and Candice Haga (Nathan) of Irvine, California; and his sisters, Barbara Soong (Melvin) of Kailua, Oahu and Carolyn Kouchi of Kauai. He is also survived by one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
