He is survived by: his wife Edna Anderson of Hilo; his children, Alvin Nakashima of Maui, Denise Nakashima (Troy Julian) and Glynn; and his siblings, Calvin Nakashima (Shirley) of Keaau, Larry "Moe" Nakashima (Lono) of Hilo, Carl Nakashima (Carlene) of Las Vegas and Sharon Okuda (Hiram) of Hilo. He is also survived by five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
