It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fumiko Kai of Hilo, Hawaii, born in Kealakekua, Hawaii, who passed away on September 16, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She is survived by: her children, Steven Kai (Sharon) of Tucson, Russell Kai (Sharon) of Mountain View, Priscilla Shimamoto (Cary) of Kailua, Oahu, Barbara Takase (Gerald) of Hilo and Lorraine Kai of Hilo; her brother Masashi Kitaoka of Captain Cook; and her siblings-in-law, George Kurozawa of Captain Cook, Mikio Izu of Honaunau, Loretta Kitaoka of Captain Cook, Chiyoko Yokomizo of Pahala and Sueko Nemoto of Maui. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
