He was loved and cherished by many people including: his siblings, Albert Waltjen of Hilo, Ernest Waltjen (Madeline) of Keaau, Daisy Wyatt (Arthur) of Edmonds, Mabel DeSilva and Kenneth Waltjen (Dale) of Hilo; his children, Lorene Leslie (Robert, III), Glenn Taka (Della) of Kona, Ronnie Sakoda, Lani Agliam and Jason Taka of Hilo; and his sisters-in-law, Doris Takahashi and Hanayo Takahashi of Hilo. He was also cherished by 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
