He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Toni Sakai-Kawada of Hilo; his sons, Brian Kawada (Michele Takeuchi) of Honolulu, Michael Kawada of Honolulu, Francis Sakai-Kawada of Hilo and Keagan Sakai-Kawada of New York; his sisters, Frances Mineshima of Honolulu, Arlene Hayashi (George) of Honolulu, Jeanette Saewong (Satong) of Honolulu and Patricia Jamieson of Honolulu; and his mother-in-law Kiyoko "Kay" Sakai of Hilo. He was also cherished by four grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
