He is survived by: his wife Nanette Wong of Hilo; his children, Alana Grace (Bryan) of Keaau, Andrea Wong of Puyallup, Andrew Wong (Melissa) of Waimea and Heidi Wong of Hilo; his sister Dorinda Choy (Ronald) of Des Moines, Washington; his mother-in-law Nancy Van Cleave of Kurtistown; and his siblings-in-law, John Van Cleave (Deborah) of Eugene, Timothy Van Cleave (Robin), Donald Jeff Van Cleave of Kurtistown and Jennifer Van Cleave of Kurtistown. He is also survived by four grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
