“I am very sad to know that Mrs. Awaya passed away. She was like my mother in Hawaii while I was an international student from Japan . She was my host-mother and I lived with her and her husband, George during 1984-1985. They were always very kind and nice. I still remember her voice to call me "Yumi chan!" softly. One of my treasures is the letter from Mrs.Awaya to my parents written in Japanese. I will treasure it. I would like to appreciate everything that she did for me. R.I.P.”
