He was predeceased by: his parents, Kazui Watanabe and Yoshiko Watanabe; and his brothers, Larry Watanabe and Glen Watanabe. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Watanabe; his children, Thomas K. "Tommy" Watanabe (Donabelle) and Heidi Watanabe; his grandchildren, Angelica Watanabe and Tsugio Watanabe; and his siblings, Richard Watanabe (Barbara), Patrick Watanabe (Alice) and Joyce Fukushima (Harold).

Family request casual attire and in lieu of flower a donation be made to Hospice Maui in Thomas Watanabe's name.
