She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Nasario Palagan and Julia Niolopua; her husband Anthony Fernandez; her children, Marie Mercado (Ben), Jo Ann "Jojo" Kee Chong (Rodney), Stephanie Ahina (Ronald), Anthony Fernandez (Patricia), Joseph Fernandez, Julia Haunani Kirkland (Geoff) and Charles Akoni Fernandez (Anela); and her cousin Violet Kowalski of Pukalani. She was also cherished by 29 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
