He was predeceased by : his parents, Mateo Motulalo and Ma'ulu'ulu Motulalo; and his siblings, Tuipulotu Falekaono, Kulifa'u Falekaono, Alifeleti Mateo, Finau Vena Falekaono, Laiti Falekono, Sosaia Atu Falekaono, Veniola Taufa, Lusia Fā Vaea, Mele'ana Latu and Latu Hafoka.

He is survived by : his wife Tapaita Fangupo Motulalo; his children, Molini Kaloni (Feleti Kaloni), Yvette M. Motulalo, Ofa Takui Totau (Pita Totau), Gordon Douglas Motulalo and Sepuloni Mateo Motulalo, Jr. (AnaMalia Tuita); and his grandchildren, Malina Tapaita Motulalo, Filipe Jones Totau, Ano Makana Motulalo, Simanatalia Ailini Totau and Kapiolani Kakala Motulalo.

With the borders closed during COVID-19, Sepuloni got to spend more family time here on Maui.
