He was predeceased by: his parents, James Chaffin and Wylene Sellars Chaffin; and his siblings, Bob, Bill, Jack Chaffin, Joan Chaffin Broyles and Peggy Chaffin.

He is survived by: his wife Cathy Shelton-Chaffin; and his sister Alice Chaffin Crowder. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in his name to AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport, 4002 Ash St. DeSoto, IA 50069.
