She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Charles and Nettie Leona Hafner (Kinkennon); her husbands, Ellis Holmes and Ted Rote; and her siblings, Calista Hafner, Hazel Belding, Beulah Reeves, Dwight Hafner and Claude Jr. Hafner.
She is survived by: her child Shoebox; her foster daughter Karen Rogers of Arizona; her grandchildren, Kevin, Brent (Lydia), Malea and Chay; her stepchildren, Jerry Rote (Sharon) of Stuart and Shirley Menefee (Ed) of Maryville, Missouri; and her stepgrandchildren, Daryl (Lisa), Janet, Jason (Kimberly) and Nicole. She is also survived by great grand children; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Due to COVID-19 and current State of Iowa restrictions on social gatherings, a private family graveside service will take place Tuesday April 28th at Union Cemetery near Guthrie Center.
Memorial donations can be made to Early Chapel Christian Church in Earlham.
