It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leone Dewey of Akron, Iowa, who passed away on September 22, 2020, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Johnson and Elsie Johnson (Bjorklund); her husband Gene Dewey; her parents-in-law, Lester and Amelia Dewey; her sons, David and Charles Dewey; her grandson Jim Upton; her siblings, Alice Delano (Leo), Melvin Johnson (Ella), Norma Heinriksen (Bill), Eleanor Jarrett (Lynn), Ernest Johnson (Johanna) and Harold Johnson (Helen); and her siblings-in-law, Harvey Dewey (Marie), Mahlon Dewey (Blanche), Duane Dewey (Dorothy), Jerry Schnee, Laurel Franklin, Darlene Dewey and Barb Dewey.
She is survived by: her daughter Ione Upton (Jack) of Akron; her daughter-in-law Gloria Dewey of Akron; her grandchildren, Wade Smith (Tracey), Wendy Oetken (Lance), Alisha Schnoor (Preston), Amanda Davison (Brad), Ron Upton (Deb) and Shellie McPhetridge (Buddy); and her siblings-in-law, Eileen Franklin and Harlyn Dewey. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.
Social distancing is required and masks are recommended.
During these difficult times of COVID 19, her family would prefer memorials to the Akron Care Center in lieu of flowers.
