It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Lou Barnes of Albia, Iowa, who passed away on March 28, 2026, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Rowland Franklin Barnes Sr.; her son Charles Barnes; her parents, Earl Johnson and Fern Johnson (McMillen); and her siblings, Francis, Ted Johnson, Dorothy Stocker, Ruby Reece, Irene Johnson, Mildred Richmond, Jane Ethel Johnson and Ethel Jane Fleener.
She is survived by: her son Rowland F. Barnes Jr. (Reashell Carter-Fenton) of Albia; and her grandchildren, Joshua Barnes and Jennifer Sisler (Joe) of Albia. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
An open memorial has been established to the family.
