She was predeceased by : her parents, John Bruns and Tena Bruns (Hoodjer); her parents-in-law, August and Minnie Valentine; her sister Judy Heeren; and her brothers-in-law, Harm Freese, Jake Valentine and Melvin Valentine (Vernice).

She is survived by : her husband Robert Valentine; her children, Colette Nederhoff (Randy) of Albuquerque, NM and Curt Valentine (Teresa) of Gowrie; her sisters-in-law, Alida Freese of Hampton and Linda Valentine of Iowa Falls; her grandchildren, Jocelyn Schlenker of Leesburg, VA, Jensen Nederhoff of Colorado and Ross Nederhoff of San Diego, CA; and her great grandchildren, Elliette Schlenker of Virginia, Jonas Schlenker of Leesburg, VA and Callahan Schlenker of Virginia.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 29th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wellsburg Reformed Church (617 E 4th St, Wellsburg, IA 50680). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 30th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
