She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Cecil and Doris Dunlavy (Battles); her husband Darrell; and her brother-in-law Robert Ball. She is survived by: her children, Marcia McAnally (Scott) of Newton and James Steinberger (Lois) of Altoona; her siblings, Larry Dunlavy (Barb), Deanna Van Cleave (Don), Kenneth Dunlavy (Fritz) and Zora Green (Buster); and her sisters-in-law, Mary J. "Mitzi" Provin (Bob) and Carolyn Ball. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews; and many good neighbors and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Newton Baptist Temple Church, Mercy Hospice or to Joy Lee's family, in her name.
