He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Zinnel and Mary Zinnel. He is survived by: his wife Michele Thompson; his children, Erin Ingle (Devon) and Ryan Zinnel (Medina); his grandchildren, Emma, Abby, Ellie and Scottie; his sister Kathy Barnett (Joel); and his niece Stephanie Teague (Dylan).
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ (5091 E University Ave, Pleasant Hill, IA 50327). A funeral service was held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Altoona Cemetery (5006 NE 80th St, Altoona, IA 50009).
