He is survived by: his parents, Walter Vonstein and Eleanor Anderson Vonstein; his son Eric Howes-Vonstein (Kris); his granddaughters, Emily of Vinton and Lucy of Vinton; and his siblings, Jeane Zielinski of Scottsdale, AZ, Leon Vonstein (JoAnn) of Altoona, Lee Vonstein of Creston, Jeri Brumley (Homer) of Warsaw, MO and Steve Vonstein (Marlys) of Bondurant.
After a long batter with Alzheimer's, Robert Dean Vonstein died August 13, 2018 in Vinton, Iowa at the age of 86.
