He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Maakestad and Mabel Maakestad (Hinderaker); his brother Clifford (Ursula); and his grandson Eli Pence. He is survived by: his former wife Ursula Lindebak; his wife Marjorie Sampson; his brother Duane (Mabel); his children, Donna Pence of Anthem, AZ, Kathy Finch (Al) of Bandera, TX, Ann Levy of Alameda, CA, Paul Maakestad of Omaha, NE and Jane Sanders of Mountain View, CA; his sister-in-law Ardith Pollmann (Gene); and also, Debra Brendeland, David Sampson (Patti) and Gary Neveln. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
