He is survived by: his wife Sue of Ames; his children, John (Susan) of Des Moines, Jeff (Chantale) of Kingston, Jamaica, Julie of Windsor Heights and Jill Schaefer (Steven) of Chantilly, Virginia; his siblings, James (Janet), Stanley (Barbara) and Jean Bessman (Carl); and his grandchildren, Molly, Amelia, Elsa, Maddie and Julien.
