He is survived by: his father Bernard Gerstein; his son Neil Gerstein; his siblings, Mark Gerstein, William Gerstein, Beth Timm (Greg) and Garth Gerstein (Angela); his brother-in-law David Anderson; his nieces, Aliza, Kylie, Alivia, Natalie and Sedona; his nephew Alex; and also Barbara Anderson.

Memorials may be directed towards Research to Prevent Blindness.
