He is survived by: his wife Ann Nelson of Ames; his sons, Andrew Nelson (Sarah) of St Paul and Jess Nelson of Ames; his siblings, Eric Nelson (Leslie Kessler) of Seattle, WA, Kurt Nelson (Teisha Hartle) of Des Moines and Liann Nelson of Ocean Shores; and his siblings' children, Molly Brougham (Josh), Katherine Simmons and Colin Simmons (Enelin).
