He was predeceased by: his parents, Ted Toms and Marie Toms (Weigel); his sister Mary Dee Neely (Russ); and his brothers-in-law, Jerry Sowers and Ray Long.
He is survived by: his wife Shelby Gall of Ames; his children, Scott Toms (Christine) of Boone, Jeff Toms (Carla) of Boone, Mike Toms (Kathy) of Madrid and Kathy Turk (Bart) of Polk City; his grandchildren, Ashley Vorwald (Chris), Scotty Toms, Crystal Toms, Candice Doss (Andy), Brian Toms (Jody), Kayla Lindgren (Justin), Spencer Paulson (Kyle), Natalie Hummel (Jacob), Andrew Larson, Emma Toms, Spencer Toms, Nathan Turk (Rachel), Daniel Turk, Matthew Turk and Elizabeth Turk; and his sisters, Colleen Sowers of Forsyth, MO and Dixie Long of Boise, ID. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
