He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin and Lyda; and his son Brent. He is survived by: his spouse Carol; his sons, David (Regina) of Ames, Greg (Linda) and Derek (Cheryl) of Minneapolis; his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jack of Ames, Sara and Julian; and his brothers, Jack (Judi) of Escondido and Gerald (Barbara) of Yuma. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bethesda Lutheran Church, 1715 Northwestern Ave., Ames, Iowa 50010.
