He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Matilda Larsen and Ervin Larsen; and his children, Judith, Ron (Jane), Jacquelyn (Rob), Jennifer (Joe), Jenean (Mike), Rick (Becky) and Julie Ann. He was also cherished by 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to the Darlene and Melvin Larsen Scholarship Fund in Civil Engineering through the Iowa State Foundation or the Iowa State Alumni Association.
